The Journal of Forensic and Allied Sciences (JFAS) is an open access, peer-reviewed, multidisciplinary international journal committed to publishing high-quality research across the broad spectrum of forensic science and allied fields. JFAS provides a platform for scholars, practitioners, and professionals to contribute to the advancement of forensic science, criminology, toxicology, forensic medicine, digital forensics, legal studies, and a wide range of allied disciplines including biotechnology, microbiology, molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, pharmacology, pathology, psychology, psychiatry, sociology, social work, anthropology, archaeology, law, criminal justice, environmental science, public health, nursing, computer science, cyber security, engineering, data science, artificial intelligence, and related interdisciplinary fields.

All articles published in JFAS are freely and permanently accessible online to readers worldwide, with no subscription or paywall restrictions.

Articles must present sound methodology, ethical integrity, and academic relevance.

Language of Publication

All submissions must be in English. Manuscripts should be clearly written in either British or American English, but usage must remain consistent throughout the paper.

Open Access Policy

JFAS is an open access journal. All published articles are freely available online without cost to the readers. This model enhances visibility, accessibility, and citation of the author’s work.

Authors retain copyright of their articles and grant the journal a license to publish under the terms of a Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license. All published research articles are under the Licence of Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommerical-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0). By publishing research articles in The Academic, author/authors grants The Academic rights to licence articles for Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommerical-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0). Journal fulfils the DOAJ definition of open access.

Submission Guidelines

How to Submit
  • Manuscripts must be submitted electronically via the online submission system or via email at: Shodhforensics@gmail.com

  • Hard copy submissions are not accepted

  • All manuscripts must be submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format

Correspondence

Authors should designate one author as the Corresponding Author, who will be responsible for all communications during submission, peer review, and publication.

Peer Review Process

  • All submissions undergo an initial editorial screening to assess suitability and compliance with journal scope and formatting.

  • Eligible manuscripts are subject to double-blind peer review by at least two independent experts.

  • Authors may be requested to revise their manuscripts based on reviewer feedback.

  • The final decision regarding publication rests with the Editor-in-Chief.

Ethical Considerations

  • The journal adheres to COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines.

  • All authors must ensure that their work is original, not plagiarized, and not under consideration elsewhere.

  • Ethical approval must be obtained (and stated) for all studies involving human or animal subjects.

  • Plagiarism, data fabrication, or unethical behavior will result in rejection and possible blacklisting.

Manuscript Preparation

General Formatting
  • Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt

  • Spacing: 1.5 line spacing

  • Margins: 1 inch (2.54 cm) on all sides

  • Alignment: Justify text (left and right)

  • Page Numbers: Bottom-right of each page

  • Do not use headers/footers, field codes, or macros

Title Page

Include the following:

  • Full Title (Clear, concise, and descriptive)

  • Author(s) Full Name(s)

  • Institutional Affiliations

  • ORCID iD (if available)

  • Email addresses of all authors

  • Corresponding Author (marked with an asterisk *)

Figures and Tables

  • Number and title all tables and figures

  • Embed within the manuscript near the first mention

  • Use high-resolution images (min. 300 DPI for publication)

  • If using previously published material, provide written permission and cite the source

Referencing Style: APA 7th Edition

All references must follow the APA 7 style. In-text citations and reference lists must be consistent and complete.
