The Journal of Forensic and Allied Sciences (JFAS) upholds the highest standards of research ethics. All authors must ensure that their work complies with the ethical standards applicable to their specific field of study, particularly when research involves human participants, animals, or sensitive data.

Human and Animal Subjects

Authors must confirm that:

• Studies involving human subjects were conducted in accordance with the ethical standards of the Declaration of Helsinki (as revised in 2013).

• Informed consent was obtained from all participants, and privacy/confidentiality was strictly maintained.

• Ethical approval was obtained from a relevant institutional or national ethics committee, and the approval number (or exemption status) should be clearly stated in the manuscript.

For research involving animals, authors must:

• Demonstrate that the study followed internationally accepted principles for the care and use of laboratory animals.

• Provide evidence of ethical clearance from an appropriate institutional animal ethics committee.

Clinical Trials and Registration

All clinical trials must be registered with a recognized clinical trial registry (e.g., ClinicalTrials.gov or WHO ICTRP). The registration number should be included in the manuscript.

Informed Consent and Permissions

If a manuscript includes identifiable images, case details, or personal information, authors must obtain explicit written consent from the individuals concerned. Copies of consent forms may be requested during editorial review.

Author Responsibility

Authors are solely responsible for ensuring:

• Compliance with all applicable ethical guidelines.

• Proper citation of prior work.

• Obtaining permissions for copyrighted material or data owned by third parties.

JFAS reserves the right to request documentation verifying ethical approval and participant consent at any stage of the submission or review process.
