Journal of Forensic and Allied Sciences (JFAS)
The Journal of Forensic and Allied Sciences (JFAS) maintains a strict and uncompromising policy on plagiarism. Upholding academic and scientific integrity is a fundamental responsibility of both the journal and its contributors. Accordingly, plagiarism in any form is not tolerated and will result in immediate corrective action.
Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:
Reproducing content from other sources without proper citation.
Copying substantial portions of text, figures, or data from previously published works.
Presenting someone else’s ideas, theories, or words as one’s own without acknowledgment.
Reusing content from one’s own previously published work without appropriate citation or justification (“self-plagiarism”).
All submitted manuscripts are subjected to rigorous plagiarism screening using reliable plagiarism detection software and manual review. Editors may also rely on peer reviewers and institutional experts to evaluate the originality of the manuscript.
Before Publication:
If plagiarism is detected during the editorial or peer review process, the manuscript will be returned to the author(s) with a request to revise the content and properly attribute sources. In cases of extensive or deliberate plagiarism, the manuscript will be rejected outright.
After Publication:
If plagiarism is discovered post-publication, JFAS reserves the right to retract the article from the journal and from all indexing and abstracting databases. A retraction notice will be issued, and the authors’ affiliated institutions may be notified.
Authors are solely responsible for ensuring the originality of their work. By submitting a manuscript to JFAS, the authors affirm that:
The work is entirely their own.
All sources are properly cited.
The manuscript has not been plagiarized in whole or in part.
The manuscript has not been submitted to or published in any other journal concurrently.
Any failure to comply with these requirements may lead to editorial sanctions, including rejection of the manuscript or future bans from submitting to the journal.
This policy is consistent with the guidelines provided by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and aligns with international standards of academic integrity.
